Get My Look: Pop O' Green

So, I tried something new last night. Before going out to celebrate with friends, I wanted to create a fun shadow look. I believe that makeup is a great way to experiment with color and technique. I was pretty impressed with the way the green shadow didn't clash with my green eyes.

What do you think of my electric green and pink look?

Product Review: Lorac TANtalizer

WHAT IS IT?
Greek goddess in a bottle, also known as body bronzing luminizer.
HOW DOES IT FEEL, SMELL?
A little goes a long way. The smooth cream rubs on with plenty of shimmer, and it smells like cocoa butter.
DO YOU LIKE IT?
Yes, this quick-drying formula is great when you don't have hours to process a self-tan but want a warm glow. I would recommend it for arms, legs, and any other body parts that could use a little color.

Rave Fave: Repair Serum

I thought I'd share another one of my favorite products. This one is from the Naturally Ageless line from Burt's Bees. I love the 100% natural Naturally Ageless Intensive Repairing Serum with pomegranate, borage, and evening primrose oils.It slides smoothly over lines and wrinkles, and it's packed with great ingredients to help heal and nourish the skin.

For $25 this stuff works well, and it lasts. I'm hardly an old lady, but I'm all about preventative measures

I heart a hot pair of sparkly heels. Nothing makes a girl feel glamorous like girly statement pieces. The funny thing is, last year I picked up very similar pair of platforms from Bakers, and I wore them for my birthday.

Rave Fave: Foundation Primer

Beauty junkies know the importance of a good foundation primer. It smooths out and evens your foundation application, and it can even improve the appearance of skin.

While I browsed the aisles of my local Sephora I stumbled upon the Laura Mercier section, and I'm so happy I did. I love using mineral foundation, as my fabulous followers already know. When I saw that this line includes a variety of primers, I was sure to grab the mineral one and give it a try. Now, I swear by the stuff. I use it under my makeup, daily.

When you think of "beauty" what do you picture? Gorgeous hair. Perfect eyebrows. Smoky eyes. Pouty lips. A healthy-looking tan. Those are all important components of being beautiful, so bravo if your mind makes those associations. Now, stretch the picture a little bit bigger.

When it comes to beauty, you should think of ALL areas of your body. After all, a person with a perfect face can have many a flaw beneath his or her jawline.

Rave Fave: Natural Sponges

I love going to the spa for a facial. There's nothing like the gentle touch of a skin specialist smoothing on products and massaging the skin while relaxing music plays in the background. The sweet smell of natural products working to hydrate and turn back the clock is a moment to enjoy, but one of my all-time favorite parts of a relaxing facial is when the sponges come out to play.

These natural sponges work to absorb product off of the skin and their texture is so gentle.  I've even incorporated them into my everyday skincare regimen. After massaging cleanser onto my skin, I warm a

Sexy Hair Accessories for Spring

Beauty Around The World

This oily wax is extracted from the seeds of a desert shrub, and it's widely used in cosmetics to condition the hair and lubricate the skin.  Isn't it something how many oily substances are actually utilized for beauty?  When I was younger, and my face a lot greasier, I thought oil was the enemy.  Now, in my twenties, I can't get enough of the stuff.

Though Native Americans have known about this beauty secret for centuries, U.S. cosmetic companies have recently started promoting this product in almost everything.

Beauty Blunder 13: What Is Normal Hair Loss?

Question: Hey Sara, I've recently switched to lighter color sheets, and I've noticed a lot of hair around my pillow when I wake up.  There aren't any chunks on the bed, and my hair doesn't feel different.  I just want to know, what's the normal amount of hair to lose?

Answer: Who knew what lighter sheets could do to a person?  For a while, my boyfriend was concerned with the trail of tresses I left around his room.  "You seem to be losing a lot of hair," he said to me.  Suddenly, I felt like a shedding dog.  "It's normal hair loss," I told him.  "We all lose a bunch of the stuff every day." As he was still unconvinced, I looked around for a handful of his hair, which I did not find, cursed the sheets, gathered my lost strands, and hobbled away like a crazy woman in denial. The truth is,

Peel-off masks

Style Trend: Break These Fashion Rules

Every day I love watching my morning shows.  Today, I caught up with Hoda and Kathy Lee on NBC's "Today Show," and they had on Joe Zee of Elle Magazine.  He's the Creative Director, and if I'm not mistaken, he also writes a column and tweets like it's nobody's business.

His appearance this morning was all about breaking the rules of fashion.  I love the idea of stepping a little out of line when it comes to dress.  Dolling yourself up is supposed to be about having fun and making a statement.  After all, who was it that said we can't wear white after Labor Day?  Does anyone even know.  Perhaps it was an angry village mother who thought white on her tan daughter's body made the boys get a little too crazy.

Here are some of Joe Zee's tips:

False Lashes: Before and After

Today I tried applying Ardell's DuraLash lash clusters to my eyes to make them really pop.  The technique was very simple.  I used tweezers to hold and dip the sticky tip of each cluster in the adhesive.  Then, starting from the outer corners, I carefully applied the lashes until I reached the inner corner.

Rave Fave: Deodorant

If you're anything like me, you try to be health-conscious as best you can.  One product I've had a hard time finding, has been a long-lasting deodorant.  I've tried countless brands, avoided aluminum products, and suffered the stinky consequences time and again.

Anyone who knows me has heard me quietly apologize after a hug because I use "natural deodorant."  Not anymore!  I can finally hug my friends and family without feeling self-conscious.  I recently purchased a deodorant from my natural health food store, and it works.  No more smelly pits, to my relief.

Beauty Blunder 12: Stylist From Hell

I've had it.  All. Of. It.  Bad manicures, bad makeup, ugly haircuts, and spray tans even the cast of Jersey Shore wouldn't want.

Thankfully, I learned from my own eyebrow mistakes early on to never let another soul go near my arches.  It's one thing if you have the ability to be your own beautician, but it's a whole other ball game when you have to rely on others to turn you into your most flattering self.  Trust becomes very important, and if you have dollar signs in your eyes instead of quality, you may end up paying much more to correct what was done.

Here is the story of my stylist from Hell and how I learned to grow into a more informed client.
