A Funny Comparison

The doctors I work with regularly come up with colorful comparisons between inanimate objects and our body's functionability. For a pinched nerve demo, they take a rubber band and tie it around their two fingers showing how the pressure renders circulation impossible, thus on a nerve, it would not be able to function properly. So they make the remark that chiropractic adjustments release the pressure (aka the rubber band) and allow proper functioning of the nerves and nervous system. I always listen quite attentively to their interesting analogies noting their creativity, but today's just had me snickering in the corner.

Doctor: "What happens when you don't charge your cell phone?"

Young girl patient (hesitantly): "It.... dies?!"

Obviously, he was trying to imply simply taking care of yourself, giving yourself adequate time to heal and destress, eating, thinking, and moving well. He probably wanted her to say it loses power/strength whatever, to show that the same happens when you don't take care of your body, but instead, she hesitantly remarked that it dies. I couldn't help but get a kick out of this. I hope she didn't leave confused or scared. Just showing that sometimes it's better to just be straightforward, and not so analogical!
