What is Love?

I am trying to think of a way to define love, but I feel that this is one of the most complicated emotions that we humans feel. Really depending on the person, place, or thing that love is felt for, it can be described as so many different things. Here are a few pertaining to my loves.

Love for a soul mate: patient, intense, all knowing and trusting, passionate, sexual, friendship, familiar, meant to be, consuming, overwhelming, brings chills to your body and a contentment unlike any other, security and safety from harm

Love for a mother: a closeness, a safety net and security blanket that warms your heart, an admiration and expectation, a need to be nurtured and together, a cove where only the two of you exist in time with one of the closest connections possible

Love for a job: certainty and security, the cards are good, positive energy, all is well in the world, harmony, a sense of purpose and belonging

Love for a pet: a tender care, a need to provide affection and safety, playfulness, youthfulness, enjoyment, and a companionship

I truly feel that love is so much more than any of these little examples can tell. Almost inexpressible by words, but I just felt a need to ponder about the topic. I will say, that love is one of the most powerful emotions that we can possess, and by far an extraordinary gift. I love love and I cherish all of my loved ones with passion!

I can remember the first time I saw you. The doctor held you up as I asked if you were alright. He said she is more than alright, she is beautiful too.
To have a daughter is such a gift from God.
I treasure you.
Love,
Mom
