Get My Look: Smoked Out Eyes

Last night, I went out with two of my girlfriends for a night of drinks, music, and dancing. I wanted my look to show off a dark, smoky eye to go with my sleek hairstyle. I love this makeup, and I definitely plan on doing it again.

What do you think of my dark eyes?

You can get this look too. Find out what I used:

  • I started by washing my face, toning and moisturizing. Then I used Laura Mercier foundation primer to even out my skin texture a bit and to make my concealer and foundation glide smoothly.
  • As always, I used rms beauty "un" cover up to hide the dark circles under my eyes. I recently wanted to try Revlon Colorstay foundation in 150 Buff, and the results have been pretty good. I can't say that I'm in love with this foundation--I'm so used to mineral powder that liquid just feels funny. But it did the job, and I'm glad I tried it. To set my face, I used M.A.C studio Fix in NC25. This powder works well to soften the look and even out any discrepancies.
  • For my eyes, I applied bareMinerals Prime Time eyelid primer. I usually use my ring finger (the weakest and gentlest) to apply it to my lid, and it helps to hold onto the boldness of every shadow color.
  • Recently, I purchased a the Urban Decay NAKED eyeshadow palette, and I really love the colors. I guess this look is a sneak peek, since I plan on showing multiple looks from the palate very soon! I used the colors Virgin, Sin, Gunmetal, and Creep
  • I love my pencil and liquid eyeliners by Jane Iredale. They glide on smooth and last. To get statement lashes, I used Diorshow Iconic Mascara which holds nicely and definitely makes them more noticeable.
  • Once again, I worked Benefit's Hoola bronzer for some warmth and contouring on my cheeks and jawline. For some subtle cheek color, I love bareMinerals blush in laughter. This is a color I bought awhile ago. I didn't use it much because I thought the orange base would look weird on my pale skin. It actually looks pretty hot, if I do say so myself.
  • To really shimmer, I used bareMinerals face color in pure radiance on the apples of my cheeks. This works like a highlighter.
  • Finally, I smeared on gold lips using Effet 3D Lipgloss by Bourjois (number 1, I think.)
That's it! What do you use for a sultry smoky eye?

oh and the bareMinerals Prime Time eyelid primer is the BEST PRIMER ever! They now come in smal tube which is easier to see what is left in bottle.
