If you've been paying attention to my posts, you've probably noticed my new obsession with false eyelashes. Because I like to find out about and share the best of the best in products, I've done quite a bit of research online to reveal the ultimate in lash adhesives. I found one product mentioned on multiple sites. It's been touted as the best "surgical grade" glue, and it has even been called "safe" on some big cosmetic industry websites.
Well, I was so thrilled to pick up some of the stuff to try for you guys, but when I turned the package over my jaw nearly dropped to the floor when I saw the word "Formaldehyde" clearly printed in the ingredients. We already know the effects this toxic ingredient has. Really? Still? My first thought was hell no, I'm not putting that $#!* near my eyes! My second thought was how many people are like me and actually turn the product over to check the ingredient label? I assume not many.
So are you curious to find out the name of the lash glue?
And the product is....Duo Eyelash Adhesive
I've noticed that many of the same companies create glues without formaldehyde for their cluster lashes (those that aren't full pieces to put over the entire eye, but sets of 9 or 10 hairs combined at the same "root.") I find this oddly interesting, and I wonder why companies feel the need to use such harsh chemicals in their formulations when it obviously isn't necessary.
I just can't get over what we as consumers are willing to sacrifice in the name of looking good. Formaldehyde.
Who is buying this stuff? I hope it's not you...

It boggles my mind how cosmetic companies can put an enbalming agent in products at all. Were not dead yet!
Thanks for raising the awareness of health risks with cosmetics.
You got it guys... It baffles me so much when I see stuff like that. Glad you're not part of the pack.
