NAAT Treatment Repair Care with Acai Berry and Keratin Guest Blog

The Beauty Blunder Blog would like to welcome guest blogger, Lee Ann for sharing her hair transformation story and product recommendations!

For a long time, my naturally coarse and frizzy hair was severely abused from clip-in hair extensions. It’s no exaggeration that I wore my beloved clip-ins five days a week for a little over a year. It was a catch 22 at its finest: what transformed my hair to bombshell status was also slowly but surely destroying it. As time went on, my hair became so damaged that I thought it unsalvageable.

I was desperate for a hair ‘savior’. Lo and behold, nuNAAT literally came to the rescue right on time.
When I was just about to throw in the towel, reach for a buzzer and pull a Britney Spears (circa 2007), a girlfriend suggested I try the line to see what it could do for my hair. I’m a pamper junkie, so I nearly salivated when I first caught a glimpse of the mask and read the label. I couldn’t wait to saturate my poor, wretched strands with it and treat them to an "ooh ahh" moment. When I first opened each of the bottles and jars, a delicious fruity scent filled the air. Now I literally salivated.

Over a period of two weeks, I used the whole sha-bang: shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and leave-in treatment from the Treatment Repair Care with Acai Berry and Keratin. I can honestly testify that I went from hair-horrified to hair-happy. I was also excited to use products that contain protein-rich keratin and antioxidant-packed acai berry. My hair now looks and feels noticeably softer and touchable. The bonus is that it left my hair smelling intoxicatingly yummy.

Since then, I've put the clip-ins aside and felt much more confident wearing my natural hair!

Elegant Hair Curls Guest Blog Video Tutorial!

The Beauty Blunder Blog would like to welcome guest blogger, Brittany for her 'Classic Curls' video tutorial.

Being a girl can be hard work. I’m not saying you need to have the perfect hair and makeup to be beautiful, because you don’t, but even I’ll admit there’s extra pep in my step when I know I look good. Luckily, looking good doesn't have to be hard work. If you’re like me and low maintenance is not only a way of life but a way of style, you’ll love getting the most wear from the effort you put into your look.

Although my normal “everyday” hair is usually perpetual bedhead—I work from home—I do have two go-to styles that make me look a little more put together. I’m big on braids, but if your fingers aren’t nimble enough to tackle them, my other go-to involves using a curling wand. To achieve voluminous ringlets or soft waves, a clamp-less curling wand can be your best friend.  They are perfect for any hair type. My hair is naturally wavy, and it hates normal curling irons but loves these.

I’ve always learned it’s easier to show and not tell, so I've put together a video on how to achieve effortless hair curls that will not only look good the first day but will also give you second day hair that’s textured and ready to take on another day!

Hot Hats and Bangs for Winter

Hey beauty loves!

December is here, and I wanted to share two of my favorite things this month. Aside from a warm, cozy scarf, I have grown to adore a good hat. As it gets colder, the type of hat you choose will change. So far I've loved rocking the fedora and those cute little "cabbie" hats.

One of my other favorites this season is bangs!

6 Ways to Stay Young Looking

When I was a little girl I wanted to look older. Now that I'm in my twenties, each year I pray that Father Time will let my look slip by unscathed by the hands of time. In doing this, I gather tips and tricks from the most gorgeous celebrities I can.

Here is a photo of one of my favorite desperate housewives, Teri Hatcher. I can still remember the days when she used to play Lois Lane on the television version of "Superman." In my opinion, Teri has aged beautifully. For a woman of her age, she still looks hip and hot. However, these two photos below are meant to show Teri when her look makes her appear unintentionally older, and when her look clearly makes her appear younger. Can you tell which is which?

If you think the first photo doesn't do Teri justice, then you agree with me. There's something about the wild, dark hair and dark makeup that ages this sultry star. The photo on the right appears to have the opposite effect. Teri goes light on the makeup, and even on her hair, and she looks glowing.

Keep reading to find out the six tricks you can use to naturally shave the years off.

Advice from Kim Kardashian

This morning, Kim Kardashian (can you tell how much I love her?) stopped by The Wendy William's Show to talk about her relationship rumors, laser hair removal, and how to get a glamorous "Keeping Up" look. Wendy mentioned that Kim is the number one celebrity viewers request to look like. Shocker.

Here are some highlights:

Bridesmaid Hair

Good morning my beauty loves.  I need your help, once again.  This May, I'm going to be a bridesmaid in my brother's wedding! It's so exciting to know I'm going to see him walk down the aisle.

My dress is a light pink color with a halter top. The flowy bottom falls right above the knee. I've decided on a half-up half-down hairstyle. This morning I found a few pics of hairstyles to show you, so you can give your opinions and help a sista out.

Here they are:

Sexy Hair Accessories for Spring

This morning I watched Louis Licari, "Today" contributor and stylist to the stars, talk about the latest hair accessory trends.  As spring is the best time to switch up your style, I had a lot of fun listening to what he had to say.  I think I might even try a few of these!

One of my favorite looks was the head wrap made famous by Rihanna.  This girl made contemporary hair scarves sexy.  Just pull hair up in a bun, wrap a scarf around it, and clip in place.  Play with colors to make your hair or outfit truly pop!

What do you think the rest of them are?

Beauty Around The World

This oily wax is extracted from the seeds of a desert shrub, and it's widely used in cosmetics to condition the hair and lubricate the skin.  Isn't it something how many oily substances are actually utilized for beauty?  When I was younger, and my face a lot greasier, I thought oil was the enemy.  Now, in my twenties, I can't get enough of the stuff.

Though Native Americans have known about this beauty secret for centuries, U.S. cosmetic companies have recently started promoting this product in almost everything.

Do you think you know what it is?  Take a guess, and see if you're right!

Beauty Blunder 13: What Is Normal Hair Loss?

Question: Hey Sara, I've recently switched to lighter color sheets, and I've noticed a lot of hair around my pillow when I wake up.  There aren't any chunks on the bed, and my hair doesn't feel different.  I just want to know, what's the normal amount of hair to lose?

Answer: Who knew what lighter sheets could do to a person?  For a while, my boyfriend was concerned with the trail of tresses I left around his room.  "You seem to be losing a lot of hair," he said to me.  Suddenly, I felt like a shedding dog.  "It's normal hair loss," I told him.  "We all lose a bunch of the stuff every day." As he was still unconvinced, I looked around for a handful of his hair, which I did not find, cursed the sheets, gathered my lost strands, and hobbled away like a crazy woman in denial. The truth is,

Question: My hair is naturally wavy, but I like to wear it straight.  It seems that every time I try to blow-dry it my hair winds up getting tangled and less than silky smooth.  Any tips?

Answer: Yes! Blow-drying can seem like a daunting task, but all you need to make it easier is practice and a  few tips. Since you like to keep it straight, here are three easy pointers to keep in mind when using a blow dryer.
