TGIF

Sometimes its fun to go out with the girls... and sometimes its dangerous!

I love my girlfriends, especially my best. She's fun, flirty, and always down to do crazy things. I gave her a call today in need of my usual dose of laughs, and we went out to eat at TGIFriday's. How appropriate for a friday! After a mudslide, a margarita, and some awkward conversation with a former gal pal, we needed something to keep the momentum going. Why not pick up another friend and go get some ink?!

We drove to Sleazeside occupying two lanes instead of one and slamming on the brakes because we were so into conversation. Cars beeped. We went onward.

Finally we arrived and went straight to our destination. The tattoo parlor. Men and women alike covered in tattoos and impaled with metal rings all squeezed into the small shop. We rummaged through books and posters looking for the perfect picture of what she wanted. And we found it.

I could tell she was nervous, but we, her support system, wouldn't let nerves get in the way. As it seemed like she was signing her life away, with all of the paperwork, I started to get the itch. You know like an addict jonesing for their drug. I used to have quite a few piercings back in the day. Then my first tattoo. I'd always imagined a second, but I never knew what or where to get it and if it would be too much ink, but I felt the craving for it. Hmm..

We walked into the room and got set up. Purses were put down, cameras taken out. This was definitely getting document status. Like Cloverfield: My Best Friend's First Tattoo.

She lay there on the table, eyes darting and then the buzzing started. Each of us offered a hand to squeeze, but she should have had a stress ball instead. It felt like she was giving birth for the amount of strength she put into it. I still have imprints on my hand, and I decided that my hand hurt worse than her tattoo. Still, it came out great.

To be good sports and satisfy the craving, we both got honorary henna tattoos and then celebratory fried oreos. It was a great day.

Then we drove on the wrong side of the road, got beeped at, and swerved to catch our exit. Sometimes a little dangerous isn't so bad.
