How to Prevent Scars

Prevent scars before they form.

There is no surefire way to predict whether a wound will heal into a scar, but there are a few steps you can take to prevent scarring, if possible. Remember to immediately rinse the cut with warm soapy water. Always keep the area clean and moist to protect against any harmful bacteria that could cause an infection. Wash the

wound once a day with warm soapy water and apply an antibiotic ointment like Neosporin before covering the area with a bandage. Once the wound heals, remember to cover the spot with sunscreen everyday to avoid hyperpigmentation, which commonly occurs in scar tissue. Contact your dermatologist if you wish to treat a scar professionally. They can recommend solutions like hydroquinone, lasers and cortisone injections to help break up and dissolve the built-up scar tissue.

Learning how to heal scars is easy since it's all about keeping them clean and moist. Fortunately, the body is an amazing structure that doesn't require much thought when it comes to healing scars naturally.

Some famous celebrities with scars: Tina Fey, Kate Middleton, Harrison Ford, Sharon Stone, Catherine Zeta Jones, Sandra Bullock, Mary J. Blige and David Beckhem.
