Natural Headache Help

I rarely get headaches, but when I do there's a natural remedy I turn to before the medicine cabinet.

Can you guess what it is?

If you said Peppermint Oil, you're right.

I massage a VERY small dab into my temples, avoiding the eye area, and this helps to subdue discomfort.  However this oil is powerful and strong smelling, so if you overdo it you won't be a happy camper.  Be sure to use very little, especially while laying down, as the oil can migrate onto pillow cases.  Less is more.  If you suffer from chronic headaches, check with your doctor to make sure it isn't something more serious.

I can tell the difference between certain headaches when they come and use different remedies for each one because not all headaches come from the same cause. For instance, if I get a sinus headache I'll put one MAYBE two drops of eucalyptus on a tissue, put it near a fan, and have it blow in the air around me so it's not too strong but strong enough to relieve the headache. If it's a stress headache I'll either rub my temples, neck or shoulders. A period headache I'll just wait it out. I'll be sure to give peppermint oil a try as well. Thanks for the tip! =)
