In Good Company

My hair smells of cigar smoke, breath of Jose Cuervo. Two indicators of a night well spent.

The best and I took a trip to way north jersey to attend a party at one of our friend's houses. It was a family get together, her mom, dad, uncle, sister, and plenty more friends joined in for backyard volleyball, the widest variety of delectable appetizers, all genres of music, poolside chases that ended in wet clothes and loud laughter, and the most fun I've had at a party in a long time.

When we arrived, we were greeted by smiling faces and warm introductions. The humidity was there, but we didn't really notice. There was a volleyball game going on and juicy ribs and cool pasta salad to be eaten. Conversations were had. Cool. Light. In the name of enjoyment. It completely took my mind away from any of the day's problems and focused me on positivity and Led Zeppelin.

My favorite part of it all wasn't the fun we had all taking turns arm wrestling and rooting for one another, nor was it my awesome DJing skills that kept everyone pumped. It was more than that. It was the inviting warmth that this family had. The way that everyone was accepted and could feel free to just be themselves. The laughter and genuine closeness.

We'd never even been to their house before and never met most of the people there, but by the time we left, we were hugging and kissing, and genuinely anticipating our return. It's nights like these that I live for. Great people, great party, and a contentment that should always exist for everyone.

Great story babe. THe party was great you are right, the burgers were great, but the ribs were still my favorite. Loved the time, especially kicking everybody's ass in arm wrestling and making you feel good and proud about your date, lol. It was one of the best parties that I have been to in months and being with you made it even more special. Next time you are going in the POOL thats right !!!!
