Don't fall into this skincare rut...

Happy Thanksgiving beauty lovers!  Is your skin ready to stay fresh and glowing for the holiday season?

It is finally autumn, my favorite season of them all. While we sit spellbound watching the beautiful leaves dry out, wither, and fall we can sometimes forget the effects the same weather has on our skin. During this time of year it is especially important to pay close attention to your complexion. Even though many people are spending much less time outdoors, other factors like air quality and diet can wreak havoc on the skin.

To avoid having a bad skin season, there are a few important tips to keep in mind.

One of the best ways to stay clean and hydrated during the drier months is by switching to a cleansing milk. These gentle cleansers offer a little less stripping, and a little more moisture. Find a cleansing cream formulated for your type of skin, and luxuriate in a replenished complexion.

Another way to keep your pores small and your face fresh is by investing in a quality toner. This product get spritzed on after washing your face. Tea tree oil makes a great toner. I like to add a few drops to a spray bottle with water. This homemade toner is inexpensive, and it works well. Beware to avoid making your toner too concentrated, as this can cause drying of the skin. If tea tree oil is too much for your skin, you can substitute this type of oil with another.

Even though the sun's rays are hidden, that doesn't mean you should forget about protecting your face. Purchase a quality antioxidant serum to provide your skin with a shield against environmental damage.

Remember to always hydrate after using serums! During the day, it is important to find a moisturizing cream with or without tint that can add to and plump up skin.

The fall and winter months can make many a face feel dry. While these products should always be a part of a regular regimen, it is important to keep the word moisture in mind. Hydrate, protect, treat your skin well, and it will be ready to glow all year round!

What are some of your favorite winter products? Do you swear by a certain brand? Share your winter skin tips for fellow beauty lovers below!
